Community Event Retractable Banner
Designed a retractable banner for the Toronto Federation of Japanese Prefectural Associations, intended for use at cultural and community events.

The objective was to create a clear, welcoming visual that communicates the organization’s identity while remaining legible in busy event environments. The layout balances branding, photography, and information hierarchy, with careful consideration of viewing distance and accessibility.

The project required hands-on knowledge of large-format print production, including bleed setup, safe margins, and a bottom clearance area for retractable hardware. The final deliverable was a print-ready PDF prepared for professional large-format output.

Print Safety & Production Considerations

To ensure the banner printed and functioned correctly in a retractable stand, a bottom safe zone was reserved to prevent important content from being hidden inside the base. All logos, text, and QR codes were kept within safe margins, while background elements extended into the bleed for a clean edge after trimming.
