Skills: Print production, layout design, visual hierarchy, large-format graphics
This project involved designing a retractable banner for the Toronto Federation of Japanese Prefectural Associations, used at cultural and community events. The goal was to create a clear, welcoming visual that represents unity among Japanese prefectural associations while remaining legible in busy event environments. The design balances branding, photography, and information hierarchy, with special attention to large-format print requirements. The banner was prepared as a print-ready PDF, incorporating proper bleed, safe margins, and a bottom clearance area for retractable hardware. Practical considerations such as viewing distance, QR code visibility, and durability in event settings were central to the design process.
